(Extra)ordinary Tech Stories - Submission Guidance
Before getting started with filling in the submission form, please make sure you read our Submission Guidance and our Privacy Policy.
To share your story, you'll need to fill in our submission form. If you're interested in sharing your story, please get in touch with us using the contact form on the (Extra)ordinary Tech Stories website and we'll be happy to share a link to the form with you.
At the moment, we don't accept other types of submissions (unless agreed in advance for a valid reason, such as accessibility needs).
We use this process to make it as simple, quick and effective as possible to collect, review and publish as many stories and as fast as we can to help us deliver our mission - sharing 500 stories from diverse people in tech.
Please note that while submitting the form doesn't guarantee that it will be published on the (Extra)ordinary Tech Stories website and promoted on our social media channels (or be done so immediately), we'll try our best to include as many stories as we can.
If you'd like some guidance or inspiration on what your responses could look like, you can check previous submissions on the (Extra)ordinary Tech Stories website. But please be yourself and be honest in your responses - there is no right or wrong way to do this and we want you to be 'you' when you tell your story.
Where possible, please use plain English in your responses and avoid using jargon, acronyms or words that could be confusing to others who may have a different background than yours. And of course, please refrain from using offensive, abusive or discriminatory language to help us build a safe and inclusive space for all.
We would love for you to respond to as many questions as possible within the submission form. However, if there is a question you don’t want to or feel uncomfortable to answer just type in N/A in the response and we’ll skip it in your story.
We encourage you to avoid using any sensitive information or data in your responses that you are not comfortable with being published on our website and social media channels.
Once you've submitted your responses and photo(s), we'll review your submission. We might make some editing tweaks, but will not change your responses.
We’ll let you review the final version before it's published. Once published on the website, we’ll promote your story via social media channels to ensure it reaches as many people as possible.
Please include your social media handles in your submission form if you’d like us to tag you and to be notified when the story is being promoted.
For help or questions related to your submission, you can email extraordinarytechstories@gmail.com.
We seek to keep diversity at the forefront of our work, but we're human and hence make mistakes.
If you feel there are ways we could do better in terms of diversity and inclusion (or in general), please share your feedback (respectfully!) with us and we'll try to do better next time.
You can email extraordinarytechstories@gmail.com to share your feedback or raise any concerns you may have.
Lastly and most importantly, good luck with submitting your story and we hope you enjoy this experience!
Thank you for helping us inspire others to build successful and fulfilling careers in tech and making the tech industry more diverse and inclusive through storytelling!
